NORFOLK, VA, March 10, 2009 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- Engineering Unplugged, the premier and first-of-its-kind green conference in Hampton Roads, presented by the Professional Development Center (PDC) of Old Dominion University, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Ted Constant Convocation Center at Old Dominion University’s Norfolk Campus.
“Going Green” is no longer a trend-– it’s real, it’s the future. From mandates by President Obama, the focus and funding in the next four years will be toward green building, green manufacturing and green research. And that is exactly what the ODU Professional Development Center’s “Engineering Unplugged” green conference is all about. Stephen Walz, Director of the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy, states, “This conference is in direct alignment with Governor Kaine’s yearlong initiative, Renew Virginia.
