FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE IMAGINE FESTIVAL OF ARTS, ISSUES AND IDEAS NOW UNDERWAY IN NEW YORK CITY NEW YORK, New York, September 1, 2004 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- New York's first annual Imagine Festival, of Arts, Issues and Ideas coincides with the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. The Imagine Festival is hosting over 125 events that mix artistic and educational activities through a series of concerts, performances, screenings, forums, town meetings and other extraordinary cultural happenings. From August 28 to September 2, 2004 we will come together to share our intelligence, creativity and passion at numerous venues throughout the city. Our nation faces profound obstacles and amazing opportunities. We are all concerned about our economy, healthcare, education, civil liberties, environmental and global responsibility. The Imagine Festival addresses these critical issues, bringing together the best and brightest our city has to offer. Artists, humanitarians, scientists, spiritual leaders and many others will gather to present original art work and ideas that direct public dialogue towards rethinking these concerns. New York City plays a unique role in the cultural life of our nation and the world. We are a city of outstanding creativity inspiring the rest of the world with art & ideas that transform our sense of what is possible. The Imagine Festival is dedicated to informing, inspiring and empowering audiences. For 6 days we will come together to discuss what matters to us most: our values, our desires and our destiny. We believe it is the responsibility of every citizen to exercise and celebrate the right to think freely, speak freely and assemble peacefully. Informed citizens are the essence of a vital democracy. The Imagine Festival, of Arts, Issues and Ideas takes place in many locations throughout the city's five boroughs. Each of the six days is dedicated to addressing an issue through arts events and panel discussions These issues are: Freedom, Community, Democracy, Justice, Prosperity & Our Future.
