FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EDR NAMES TWO NEW VICE PRESIDENTS
MILFORD, CT, July 8, 2004 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- Robert Barber, president of Environmental Data Resources Inc., today announced two senior management changes. Patrick Coyne has been named vice president of sales, a position previously held by Barber. Gerry Tsui has been promoted to vice president of information systems. Tsui’s appointment will allow Mark Cerino, who serves as the company’s COO and chief technology officer, to focus more on the day-to-day operations of the company.
As vice president of sales, Patrick Coyne will be responsible for overseeing sales efforts across all of EDR’s vertical businesses. Coyne will manage a team of 55 salespeople, and will report directly to Barber.
Coyne began his career with EDR—a national provider of environmental risk management data—in 1998 as an account executive. He was promoted to regional manager three years later and has since held several positions with increasing responsibility. Prior to joining EDR, Coyne worked for Rochester, New Hampshire-based Waste Management, Inc., where he implemented a new leachate recirculation technology at one of the company’s largest landfill complexes.
“Pat has done a tremendous job for EDR. He is goal-oriented and highly motivated, and has proven that he can grow our business across all markets,” said Barber. “I am confident that he will excel in his new position.”
As vice president of information systems, Tsui will be responsible for all aspects of technology at EDR. He will oversee the company’s computer systems and product development; sales support including managing the company’s customer database and order tracking system; production support, including maintaining EDR’s GIS-enabled search engine; internet/web capabilities; and accounting systems. Tsui will also oversee EDR’s 40-person technical staff.
Tsui joined the company in 1994 as a senior geographic information system analyst. Two years later he was named GIS manager; he became GIS director two years after that. In 2001, Tsui was promoted to associate vice president of information technology.
Prior to joining EDR, Tsui, who holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut, held a number of GIS-related positions with the New York Department of City Planning. From 1988 until 1994 he was a senior GIS analyst with the New York State Legislative Task Force on Demographic Research and Reappointment.
“Gerry’s extensive GIS and systems background, combined with his dedication and drive, make him the perfect candidate to oversee our computer operations. He is capable, experienced and efficient and I have every confidence that he will tackle this job with the enthusiasm and commitment that he has brought to every position he’s held at EDR,” remarked Cerino.
