Registration for the Design:Green workshop is being handled by NEOCON 2004. To register, link to and you will be directed into the NEOCON registration system. You will not receive a badge or confirmation in the mail. A badge is not necessary to enter the Merchandise Mart since NEOCON will be over on Wednesday. Simply come to the Merchandise Mart on Thursday morning at 7:30 and you will be directed to the Design:Green workshop room.

Attendees and other interested “greens” (You need not be registered for the workshop) are invited to join us for the Mixed Greens Chicago Launch Party for Design:Green hosted by IDSA/Chicago on Wednesday, June 16 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Goose Island Brewery at 1800 North Clybourn, Chicago. Special guest speaker: Steve Belletire/IDSA, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Design:Green is an educational initiative with the goal of jumpstarting eco-design education for U.S. product designers. Core activities includeone-day workshops in which practicing product designers, students and educators learn how ecodesign can be a stimulus for groundbreaking innovation, address technical factors using the Business-Ecodesign Tools, an easy-to-use toolkit developed by the Environmental Responsibility Section of IDSA, and work on actual product design cases presented by the Hardwood Information Center, Herman Miller, and Philips.

Design:Green is being conducted in partnership with U.S. EPA, the Design Foundation of IDSA and J. Ottman Consulting, Inc.
