SOLAR INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION CHANGES LEADERSHIP WASHINGTON D.C., April 30, 2004 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), the national trade organization representing solar electric and solar thermal manufacturers, component suppliers, national distributors, and system providers, announced the resignation of its Executive Director for three years, Glenn Hamer, who is moving to Arizona to work with a member solar manufacturer. SEIA Board Chairman Chet Farris, CEO of Shell Solar of California, stated, “Glenn has been a strong asset to SEIA, has served the industry admirably, and we will surely miss him. We wish him well and are pleased he will remain with the U.S. solar industry.” The SEIA Board of Directors appointed Scott Sklar, President of The Stella Group, Ltd. which is a Washington-based renewable energy policy and strategic marketing firm, as Interim Acting Executive Director until a new SEIA Executive Director is selected by the Board. Sklar, who served as SEIA Executive Director previously for 13 years, will assist the Board with the selection process of a new Executive Director and other immediate organizational and policy issues that SEIA will deal with over the next few months. According to Chet Farris, “SEIA is strong and the solar industry continues to grow.
