FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SHAKLEE EARTH DAY CAMPAIGN TARGETS GLOBAL WARMING Shaklee Corporation plants trees in Golden Gate Park SAN FRANCISCO CA, April 28, 2006 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- On April 21 Shaklee kicked off its global environmental campaign to raise awareness of global warming, "A Million Trees. A Million Dreams.™", with a tree-planting event in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. 
Working in tandem with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, and San Francisco's Recreation and Parks Department, 150 Shaklee employees planted 225 Monterey Cypress and Pittosporum five-gallon trees in Golden Gate Park's Marx Meadow.
Inspired by the visionary work of 2004 Nobel Peace laureate Dr. Wangari Maathai and her Green Belt Movement, Shaklee has set a goal to plant over one million trees throughout North America to raise the awareness of global warming and help offset a significant portion of the CO2 the company produces. Shaklee will also donate $100,000 to Dr. Maathai's Green Belt Movement so that she can plant another one million trees in Kenya. "San Francisco is the perfect city to launch our environmental initiative targeting global warming. We are excited to be working with Mayor Newsom and the city's Recreation and Parks Department to make San Francisco greener and more beautiful while helping raise awareness of global warming," said Roger Barnett, Chairman and CEO of Shaklee Corporation.
