FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ESRI'S ARCWEB SERVICES NOW INCLUDE BATCH GEOCODING, DEMOGRAPHIC REPORTS AND NEW DATA REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA, April 15, 2004, --/WORLD-WIRE/-- ESRI, the leader in geographic information system (GIS) technology, today announced several additions to the services and data included in ArcWeb Services. Subscribers can now do batch geocoding, obtain demographic reports for specified regions, and access new data that includes weather forecasts, world administrative boundaries, and maps of New Zealand. ArcWeb Services give subscribers access to both GIS content and GIS capabilities-on demand when needed-and eliminate the overhead of purchasing and maintaining large data sets. With ArcWeb Services, data storage, maintenance, and updates are handled by ESRI. Batch geocoding is offered to ArcWeb Services subscribers through the new Address Manager service. With this service, users can upload to ESRI a custom set of addresses, which are then returned as geocoded locations for storage on the user's local server. From there, users can make the data available to other applications. ArcWeb Services subscribers can now get detailed demographic reports from ESRI Business Information Solutions (ESRI BIS) using the new Report service. For a user-selected study area or trade area, the Report Web service returns aggregated results in PDF, Excel, or XML format. The available data for these reports and maps includes detailed 2003/2008 demographic reports and comprehensive Consumer Expenditures report from ESRI BIS, the Tapestry Area Profile report from the ESRI BIS Community Tapestry segmentation system, Census 2000 reports as well as 1990-2000 Comparison reports from census data, a Traffic Profile report showing nearby traffic counts from MPSI/DataMetrix, national aerial photo coverage and satellite imagery from Pixxures, and site maps of the areas being analyzed. Many data sources have also been added to ArcWeb Services including Meteorlogix weather forecast data; New Zealand cadastral, land cover, street, and topographic maps; and world administrative areas. This is in addition to data already offered covering the United States, Canada, and Western Europe.
