EDR ANNOUNCES SPRING WORKSHOP SCHEDULE: PROPOSED FEDERAL ENVIRONMENTAL DUE DILIGENCE STANDARD, MOLD ARE TOP TOPICS

MILFORD CONN, April 14, 2004 —-/WORLD-WIRE/-- Environmental consultants, bankers and others who want to learn more about issues facing the environmental due diligence industry, particularly the proposed federal “all appropriate inquiry” rule and the draft ASTM standard for mold assessments, should attend Due Diligence at Dawn: Property Due Diligence: Tools of the Trade. The half-day interactive workshop will kick off in Los Angeles on April 27 and run in eight other U.S. cities this spring. The cost is $250, or $125 for EDR clients, and includes the workshop, course materials and a continental breakfast. The seminar is free to the press; media are encouraged to attend.

In its tenth year, the seminar is sponsored by EDR, a national provider of environmental risk management information. In addition to providing attendees with an update on mold and AAI— which marks the first time environmental due diligence will be codified in a federal regulation— attendees will learn how to apply the latest technology to Phase I report preparation, and will become versed in current environmental risk screening options for low risk loans.

Featured speakers include Dianne Crocker, who edits the monthly Phase I newsletter ESA Report and co-authors the Air and Waste Management Association’s “Inside the Industry” column for EM, and Anthony Buonicore, P.E., DEE, who chaired the ASTM Phase I task group responsible for writing ASTM E 1527, the widely accepted industry standard for Phase Is. Ms. Crocker represented EDR as a resource participant on EPA’s AAI negotiated rulemaking committee and has published several articles on the proposed rule; Mr. Buonicore, widely recognized as an expert in the environmental industry, has over 30 years of environmental experience, and over 15 years of experience performing Phase Is.

“The seminar provides a wealth of information, critical for anyone serious about performing environmental assessments in the best interest of their clients,” said a past participant from Schnabel Engineering. A lender from U.S. Bancorp remarked, “Due Diligence at Dawn is the perfect opportunity for lenders responsible for managing risk to become better informed about environmental due diligence and gain a better understanding of how they can best define and manage contingent liabilities related to environmental concerns.”

The Los Angeles workshop on April 27 will be followed by Scottsdale on April 28, Minneapolis on April 29, Houston on May 18, Dallas on May 19, Chicago on May 20, Detroit on June 8, Cincinnati on June 9 and Washington DC on June 10.
