ARE ENVIRONMENTAL FILMS THE NEXT BLOCKBUSTER HITS?
New Grassroots Film Distributor Eyes the Home Video Market

MILL VALLEY, CA, April 7, 2004 --/World-Wire/-- Web-based Green Planet Films has one purpose in mind: to get nature, environmental and conservation films easily and affordably into the hands of the American public.

Green Planet Films Exective Director Suzanne Harle says "Green Planet provides DVDs, both for sale and rental, by posting the titles available on the company's website and sending the movies through the mail like other DVD rental companies. Ms Harle says "It's important go get these films out to the public because these are films that can make a difference in people's lives."

When up against Hollywood blockbusters, environmental films sound like a tough sell to the home video market. But, Green Planet sees a strong niche market made up of people and families whose desire to see the available wildlife programming currently available on television as well as millions of people who are concerned about what is really happening with the environment. Planet Green offers Mother Earth's "reality TV".

The stories in the films are compelling, enlightening, and, above all, entertaining. Green Planet offer films such as "The Bilby Brothers - The Men Who Killed the Easter Bunny," winner of "Best Independent Wildlife Documentary" at the 2003 International Wildlife Film Festival. This film documents the mission of two men to repopulate the endangered Australian bilby, their native long-eared marsupial. At Easter, The Bilby Brothers market Chocolate Easter Bilbies and campaign to replace the Easter Bunny. The film makes audiences laugh, cry and even write checks to the brothers wildlife foundation.

On March 20, 2004, Green Planet Films Founder and Executive Director Suzanne Harle participated on a workshop panel discussing DVD distribution at the Hazel Wolf Environmental Film Festival. In October she will be attending Wildscreen Wildlife Film Festival in Bristol England in an effort to acquire European nature and environmental films for distribution.

Green Planet Films is actively seeking films, funding and collaborative support.
