AIR COMPLIANCE TESTING'S CONTINUOUS EMISSION MONITORING SYSTEM MAINTAINTENANCE PROGRAM

Air Compliance Testing offers complete, turnkey Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) Maintenance Services. We can help you satisfy your CEMS and Continuous Opacity Monitoring System (COMS) QA/QC Program requirements.

The Air Compliance Testing team of professionals includes staff specializing in CEMS work. They have worked on over 100 CEMS-related projects. Our extensive field experience performing Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA) provides the insight necessary to understand the complexities associated with these sometimes cantankerous systems.

Following is a sample of what our CEMS Preventative Maintenance Program can include on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This list is not all-inclusive:
    Monthly Preventative Maintenance
  • Clean, replace or change system filters. Check:
    • CEMS calibration and leak check system
    • Instrument panels and Data Acquisition System (DAS) for alarms
    • Instrument sample flow rates
    • Sample back-purge system operation
    • Probe temperatures, pressures and vacuums
    • Sample lines and connections – clean/repair as necessary
  • Service CEMS instruments according to the manufacturer's instructions
  • Record the pressures of all gas cylinders
  • Evaluate daily calibration trends
  • Initiate corrective for any malfunctions identified
  • Replace daily calibration gas cylinder and reprogram computer for correct concentration
  • Conduct on-stack maintenance of CEMS monitors/probes according to the manufacturer's instructions, and recalibrate CEMS monitors

    Quarterly Preventative Maintenance and CGA Service
    Complete all the monthly tasks, plus:
    Perform the following:
    • Leak Check on the flow monitor system
    • Linearity check on the instruments
    • Cylinder Gas Audit (CGA)
    • Automated zero
  • Clean lenses
  • Insert upscale filter
  • Check optical alignment

    Annual Preventative Maintenance and Testing
    Annually, we perform all the monthly and quarterly tasks, plus: Check for:
    • Agreement between the front panel meters and the DAS readings
    • System response time


    Perform:
    • Leak checks on the concentration sample system
    • Annual Relative Accuracy Test Audit (RATA)
  • Calculate and record the averaging period
  • Verify operational test period and zero and upscale drift error
