GRAND RAPIDS, MI, January 4, 2006 --/WORLD-WIRE/--
OurEnergy, a Grand Rapids, MI-based renewable energy group, has unveiled a new partnership with Haworth Inc., a worldwide manufacturer of office environments headquartered in Holland, Michigan. The partnership, which will allow Haworth to support renewable energy through purchases with online retailers, marks a new phase in Haworth’s expanding corporate responsibility program.

“Haworth has been committed to corporate sustainability for over a decade, including recognizing the potential of renewable energy to reduce pollution,” said Diane Haworth, Haworth’s Sustainability Manager. “The partnership with OurEnergy enables Haworth and its employees to generate renewable energy each time they make purchases with over 700 merchants in the OurEnergy network.”

Participating online retailers, including Staples,, Barnes & Noble, Office Max and hundreds of others, have agreed to contribute a small percentage of each purchase to a renewable energy supplier designated by Haworth. By participating in the program, Haworth stands to generate tens of thousands of dollars a year in renewable energy certificates, helping to offset the higher unit costs faced by the renewables industry.

OurEnergy seeks to advance the long-term development of clean energy in the US by lowering the barriers for cooperation between consumers and suppliers. Through programs like the Haworth partnership, OurEnergy links consumers with a network of solar, geothermal, wind and biomass energy providers across the United States.

“The OurEnergy program enables uncomplicated company and employee renewable energy program participation,” says OurEnergy founder John Zyskowski. “I applaud Haworth for their continued commitment to sustainability and encourage businesses to follow their lead in generating more renewable energy opportunities.”

All the energy marketers’ products are certified by Green-e, a nationally recognized third party organization, which helps consumers identify environmentally superior electricity offerings that meet environmental and consumer protection standards.
